Current Work Trips
The Livingston County CARES, Inc. Board of Directors approved four work trips to Harrison County, Mississippi in 2008.
The February trip will leave on Sunday, February 17 and return on Saturday, February 23. Accommodations and meals will be provided by the Salvation Army at Yankee Stadium in East Biloxi. Volunteers will work on reconstruction of houses in East Biloxi. The cost for the trip will be $125.00 plus airfare for all participants. A completed trip application and payment of the $125.00 must be returned to Livingston CARES no later than November 1. Due to President's Week travel, confirming airline tickets will be more complicated. Individuals interested in this trip should contact trip coordinator, Chris Lynch at lynchc@dansvillecsd.org to make arrangements for travel.
The March trip will leave on Saturday, March 15 by bus from Geneseo and return on Saturday, March 22. Accommodations and meals will be provided by the Salvation Army at Yankee Stadium in East Biloxi. Volunteers will work on reconstruction of houses in East Biloxi. The cost for the trip will be $315.00 for SUNY Geneseo students and $436.00 for all other participants. Seats on the bus will be filled on a first-come, first-serve basis until filled. A deposit of $100.00 and a completed application packet must be returned to Livingston CARES no later than November 1. The May trip will leave on Sunday, May 18 and return on Saturday, May 24. Accommodations and meals will be provided by Habitat for Humanity at Yankee Stadium in East Biloxi. Volunteers will work on construction of houses in East Biloxi. The cost for this trip will be $350.00 for SUNY Geneseo Students and $400.00 for non-students. You will need to make a check payable to Livingston CARES, Inc. for the full amount by March 15, 2008 for the May trip. Please note that all trip expenses are tax deductible under IRS regulations.
SUNY Geneseo students will receive financial support similar to the other 2008 trips. March 15 is the deadline for payment and receipt of application packets. Individuals interested in this trip should contact Dan Dimpfl, trip coordinator, at ddimpfl@rochester.rr.com.
